The luminous spheres followed the dragon as he ventured into the dark passageway.
The illuminated corridor was still equally uninviting, but fortunately it was not as long as it seemed at first, and after a few steps it turned right and ended with a door. Draco confidently opened it and entered the spacious interior. The circular room was built entirely of white marble interspersed with silver veins. Crystal lamps were set at regular intervals on the smooth walls, which glowed with a strong, glaring light as soon as the dragon touched one of them. The centre of the room was lowered and covered with fine white sand. On the other side was a pedestal with a sloping desk.
